The Corvina Veronese is a typical grape variety of the Veneto region, native to the territory of Verona, although its cultivation is also allowed in other provinces of the region. It is a black grape variety and is frequently used as a base for producing the finest red wines of the Valpolicella region, including Amarone. Its grapes are prized and of high quality, which is why the wines derived from their use are among the most appreciated in Italy. However, Corvina grapes can also be used on their own, giving rise to the eponymous wine.
